KVK Ri-Bhoi Organised Field Day on HYV Paddy (RCM-11)
Field day on HYV of Paddy (var. RCM-11) was organised by KVK R-Bhoi, ICAR Umiam for higher productivity at Kyrdem village on 3rd November,2017. The objective of the programme was to popularize and showcase the High yielding Paddy variety RCM- 11 along with Bio-fertilizer (Azospirillum and PSB). Around 10 ha area were covered in 3 different villages of Ri-Bhoi District. About 33 farmers, farm women and Rural Youth were participated in the programme from Kyrdem and nearby villages. The farmers were very happy with the organic production technology of HYV of Paddy. Many farmers from the village and nearby villages are expected to adopt the technology at their field next season. The farmers expected to get higher yield as compared to the local variety with traditional practices without application of any other sources of nutrients.
