Honourable Parliamentary Secretary Er. Vikho-O-Yhoshu inaugurated TechnologyTransfer Conclave at NRC on Mithun
A Technology Transfer Conclave was organised at Jharnapani campus of NRC on mithun on 09.09.2014. The programme was inaugurated by Honourable Parliamentary Secretary, Veterinary & Animal Husbandry, Govt of Nagaland, and Er. Vikho-O-Yhoshu and Dr Timothy Lotha, Director, Veterinary and Animal Husbandry, Govt of Nagaland was the Guest of honour. Besides Dr. Keba, Managing Director, NLDB, and other senior official from Department of Veterinary& AH, Nagaland, Dr. Mhasizokho, CEO, DIMUL, along with other staff have graced the occasion. The programme was organised for transfer of farmer’s friendly technologies developed by NRCM and its scope as commercial venture.
Dr. K.K.Baruah, Principal Scientist, NRCM has welcomed the dignitaries, farmers and entrepreneurs. He narrated the achievements of NRCM over last 25 years in areas of research, extension and training. He thanked all the past and present scientists of the institute to bring the glory by development of farm worthy technologies.
The various technologies developed by the Institute were showcased by Dr. N.Haque, Principal Scientist NRCM and their economics was explained to farmers and young entrepreneurs. He explained the usefulness and feasibility of these technologies for economic upliftment of livestock farmers of this region. He also highlighted the beneficial ways of using the by-product of brewarage industry and green fodder available in plenty during lush season for preparation of economic and nutritious feed blocks for feeding during dry season.
Dr. Timothy Lotha, Director, Veterinary and Animal Husbandry, Govt of Nagaland expressed satisfaction over technology demonstration and was delighted by the participation of young entrepreneurs from various regions of state. He expressed his willingness to work hand in hand with NRCM for development of more farmers oriented technologies in near future. He thanked all the scientists of NRCM for their hard work and constant efforts for the betterment of Livestock especially mithun in Nagaland.
Er. Vikho-O-Yhoshu during his address has congratulated the NRCM for development of economical and effective technologies. He further highlighted the importance of technologies ready for commercialization such as Area Specific Mineral Mixture, Composite feed block and Mineral blocks and urged the farmers and entrepreneurs to take-up the venture for commercial production and their disseminated to all the farmers of the region. He also stressed on close cooperation between NRCM and state Veterinary& Animal Husbandry department and expressed his satisfaction on various research activities while visiting the different laboratories. He praised the Director NRCM and scientist for creating state of art laboratory facilities at the institute with financial support from Department of Biotechnologi, Govt of India
Dr. Anupama Mukherjee, Senior Scientist and Dr. Jayanta Kumar Chamuah, Scientist explained to the farmers about the farm worthy techniques for management of health and production during Technical session. Farmers and young entrepreneurs enquired about the economic feasibility of technologies and were satisfied with the programme.
Dr. A. Kumar extended vote of thanks on behalf of all the staff of NRCM to all the dignitaries and participants, press, media and supporting staff for the successful organization of this programme.
