HINDI Fortnight Official Ceremony at ICAR-NOFRI
ICAR-National Organic Farming Research Institute (NOFRI) celebrated Hindi Fortnight from September 14-30, 2016. The inaugural ceremony was held on September 14, 2016. Shri Vinay Raj Tiwari, Deputy Director, Press Information Bureau (PIB) Government of India was the Chief Guest of the function. In his inaugural address he expressed his satisfaction over the efforts being made by the ICAR-NOFRI for implementation of Hindi in different official activities with different publications and involvement of all the ICAR staff members. He also shared his experiences while dealing with Rajbhasha Hindi during his tenure in North East India.
Shri Jitendra Singh Raje, IAS, Director, Higher Education, HRDD, Government of Sikkim was the Chief Guest of the closing ceremony on October 01, 2016. In his address, he shared his views about the status of Rajbhasha activities. He appreciated the Rajbhasha activities going on at the ICAR-NOFRI. He also motivated the ICAR-NOFRI staff for active participation in various programs and further suggested incorporating Hindi in day to day activities. He also underlined the efforts of ICAR-NOFRI in writing various research articles in Hindi for the benefit of farming community.
Dr. R. K. Avasthe, Joint Director, ICAR-NOFRI and Chairman, Official Language Implementation Committee, briefed about the institute Rajbhasha activities to the Chief Guests of both the events. He highlighted the efforts made by the ICAR-NOFRI and KVK East Sikkim staff for the promotion of Rajbhasha activities. He also briefed about the ICAR-NOFRI Research and Development program being carried out by the Institute. He appreciated the Institute staff for their active participation in various programs of the Hindi Pakhwada.
Dr. H. Kalita, Principal Scientist and Vice Chairman, Official Language Implementation Committee, in his address highlighted the progress made by the institute in the field of implementation of Hindi in official correspondence and revealed about the whole hearted participation of the institute employees. Dr. Ashish Yadav, Senior Scientist; Dr. Raghavendra Singh, Senior Scientist; Shri S. Verma expressed their views about status of Hindi in around the globe.
Shri S.M. Kandwal, Senior Technical Officer, Member Secretary, Official Language Implementation Committee presented progress report made by the institute for the implementation of Rajbhasha Hindi at this Institute. During Hindi Pakhwada various competitions viz., Essay Writing, Debate, Noting Drafting in Hindi, Quiz, Technical/Administrative Vocabulary test and Extempore Speech etc. were actively organized for the promotion of Rajbhasha Hindi at work place.
