KVK West Siang conducts a multi-disciplinary on-farm training

 

A multi-disciplinary training programme on various aspects of soil, horticulture, plant protection and agricultural extension was conducted on 5th March 2016 at Gori-I village in Basar Circle of West Siang district of Arunachal Pradesh. Ms. Wangnem Rekhung explained the importance and techniques of soil testing and soil nutrition;  Mrs.  Deepa Lal appraised the participant about the package of practices of vegetable production in kitchen Gardens; Dr. K. Suraj Singh advised the plant protection measures in case the crops of farmers get affected with various pest and diseases and  Mr. Debashish Dutta in his lecture motivated and encouraged the farmers to form a Farmers Club by explaining its methods and benefits. At the end of day long lectures and discussions, all the participants and KVK team practiced practical demonstrations of soil sampling methods under the guidance of Dr. Chitrangad Singh Raghav-the Programme Coordinator who while concluding the training programme assured all help from the KVK for any agricultural problems. Chairman VLDC Mr. Lito Basar and other active and progressive farmers including Mr. Karjo Riba, Mr. Inya Basar extended all help and cooperation to the KVK team in organizing the programme and assured to further disseminate the information and knowledge gained through the training.
