Farmers awareness programme on role of Gramin Kirshi Mausam Seva (GKMS) for improving livelihood improvement of Mizo farmers under GKMS

 

Three days (26th to 29th February, 2016) farmers’ awareness programme on ‘Role of Gramin Kirshi Mausam Seva (GKMS) for improving livelihood improvement of Mizo farmers’ under Gramin Krishi Mausam Seva (GKMS) at ICAR Research Complex for NEHR, Mizoram Centre. Forty farmers attended the awareness programme. Pu. Khawlsimthanga Khawlhring, the Deputy Director of SIRD graced as chief guest of the programme. Dr. Saurav Saha gave the welcome speech. Dr. S. B. Singh, Joint Director, ICAR RC NERH, Mizoram Centre greeted the chief guest and highlighted the importance of the Gramin Kirshi Mausam Seva (GKMS). . Pu. Khawlsimthanga Khawlhring, the Deputy Director of SIRD highlighted the current status of climate change and its possible impact on agriculture. Aiming to secure our future food availability, real time implementation of Gramin Kirshi Mausam Seva (GKMS) at farmers’ level has the immense potential to improve the livelihood of Mizo farmers. Finally Dr. T Boopathi gave the formal vote of thanks.
