Farmers’ Awareness Programme under GKMS, AMFU Basar

 

AMFU Basar, ICAR Research Complex for NEH Region, A.P. Centre, Basar has organized two Farmers’ Awareness Programme on GKMS on 26-03-2016 at Tezu (Lohit District) and on 29-03-2016 at Basar, sponsored by Ministry of Earth Sciences. The programme at Tezu was participated by around 31 farmers, the Deputy Commissioner, Staffs of KVK Anjaw and other stake holders. The Joint Director, ICAR, A.P. Centre gave a detail presentation on GKMS system and its significance. At Basar, around fifty farmers, mostly women, from Nyigam, Bam and Gori villages participated and got registered for the service. During the programme, Dr R. Bhagawati, made the farmers aware of the agromet advisory services and its significance, especially in the current era of climate change. Mr. K. Bhagawati, Technical Officer (i/c) demonstrated in detail how the AAS system works. Also, during the programme there was a scientist-farmer interaction in which the scientists from relevant subjects gave need-based advices to the queries of the farmers. Seasonal vegetable seeds were also distributed with detail packages of practices.
