A Field day on Sali paddy
A Field day on Sali paddy (var- Gitesh) was organized at Haripur village of Selsella block on 5th Nov,2015. This programme was organized popularize the improved variety of paddy (var- Gitesh) among the farmers of the area. More than 50 farmers of Haripur and adjacent villages participated in the programme. The characteristics of this particular is that it can be kept in the nursery bed up to 72 days in case of climatic aberrations like drought and flood. Inspite of late transplanting, the variety can yield upto 4.2 tonnes per hectare. Even this year inspite of submerged for 8-10 days under water the productivity may touch upto 4.0 tonnes per hectare.
