KVK Anjaw organized training programme on“Farmers Producer Organization”
A one day training programme on “Farmers Producer Organization” was organized by KVK Anjaw at Barfu on 26th March, 2017. Altogether 28 farmers including, farm women and rural youths participated in the training programme. S. Peter Singh, SMS, Social Sciences delivered lecture regarding the promotion of group among farm women and rural youth through formation of SHGs and Farmers Club. He also further aware to the participants to go for group marketing of their produces so as make more cost effective and fetch more margin. During the interaction session with the farm women, Secretary of Barfu SHG expressed that since formationof the group during the year 2015, no such activities has been done till yet. Therefore, with the prime objectives to activate and streamline the activities of the group, she requested to intervene certain agriculture and allied related activities from the KVK and State Line Department for generation of self-employment, income and promotion of marketing.
In continuation of the programme and as an approaches to mitigate the scarcity of water in Barfu, a Jalkund has also been constructed under the Project “Importance of Rain Water Harvesting Structure for Year Round Production in Anjaw District” for community uses at the top of the village with the participation of Goan Bura, villagers, farm women and youths of the villages. At present digging of 7 nos. of pond for construction of Jalkund has been completed.
