Exhibition of New Technologies and Scientific Advisory Committee Meeting of KVK West Siang conducted
Basar,the 28th March,2015 : The Scientific Advisory Committee (SAC) Meeting of KVK West Siang was conducted on 27th March, 2015 with Shri Emar Ete, Additional Deputy Commissioner, Basar graced the meeting as the Chief Guest, Dr. R. Bhagawati, Joint Director, ICAR Basar as the President, Shri Tago Basar, Ex-Director of Agriculture, Govt. of A. P. and Dr R. Bordoloi, Principal Scientist, Zonal Project Directorate, Zone-III as the Guest of Honour and other officials from line departments namely Shri Tomi Basar, DAO, Aalo, Shri Gomar Ango, Deputy Director (Industries), Aalo; Shri Toli Bam, SDAO, Basar; Dr Dagge Riba, Sr. Vet. Officer, Basar. At the outset, Shri A. Kirankumar Singh, i/c Programme Coordinator welcomed all the dignitaries, invitees, progressive farmers and members of the SAC for making the programme a grand success. In his presidential speech, Dr R. Bhagawati highlighted the activities conducted by the KVK West Siang and ICAR for the welfare and development of the farming community through transfer of technology and technical backstopping from time to time. Shri Tago Basar in his speech highlighted the importance of the ICAR in general and the KVK in particular for the upliftment of the livelihood of the farming community and recalled the activities performed during his tenure as the Director of Agriculture, Govt. of Arunachal Pradesh for the establishment of the KVKs in Arunachal Pradesh. Shri Emar Ete, ADC Basar in his speech drew the attention of the farming community to utilize the facilities available in ICAR and KVK for the improvement of their livelihood through adoption of improved technologies transferred by the KVK. The inaugural session of the function was ended with the vote of thanks by Dr Rajesh A. Alone, Scientist (Agroforestry). The technical session was conducted by Dr R. Bordoloi, Principal Scientist, Zonal Project Directorate, Zone-III as the Chairman and co-chaired by Shri Tago Basar, Ex-Director of Agriculture, Govt. of A. P. Firstly, Shri P.S. Rolling Anal, Technical Officer (Agromet) highlighted the trends of Weather The session was initiated by Shri A. Kirankumar Singh, i/c Programme Coordinator, KVK West Siang with the presentation of the Achievement during the year 2014-15 and the Annual Action Plan for the year 2015-16 under the discipline of Agronomy followed by Dr. Doni Jini, Scientist (Vety. Extn.) for Animal Science, Smt Rita Nongthombam, SMS (Plant Breeding), Dr. K. Suraj Singh, SMS (Plant Protection), Shri Debashis Datta, SMS (Agril. Extn.), Smt. Bharati Saloi, Prog. Asst. (Home Science) and Miss Wangnem Rekhung, Prog. Asst. (Soil Science). During the technical session, a healthy and constructive interaction among the participating farmers, line department officials and technical experts of the KVK and ICAR took active part. At the outset, Shri Tomi Basar, DAO Aalo expressed his satisfaction and impressed with the activities conducted by the KVK and suggested to strengthen the linkages among the line departments. Shri Gomar Ango, Deputy Director (Industries) also stressed on collaborative works with his department and the KVK to entrepreneurship and skill development activities. In the afternoon session, all the participants paid a visit to Exhibition Stall and field as a part of the programme.
