Training on scientific method of identifications in livestock
One day training on scientific method of identification in Livestock was held on 16 January 2018 at Metengliang. SMS Animal Science Dr. Tilling Tayo, briefly thought about importance of livestock identification method through power point presentation. Being animal reared under free range system in rural area, most often ownership dispute arise due to improper identification method of livestock in Mithun and cattle. As a result, many a times dispute arise and register officially case file or local Kebang setting is done within village community to solve the dispute. He said that there are different method of identification in livestock, viz, Branding, Ear notching and Ear tagging, but most farmer friendly method of scientific method of livestock identification is “Ear tagging method”. Therefore, to avert this problem, “Ear tagging method” is most suitable method to address problem. At the end of training medicine for first aid for livestocks was also distributed to the participant. Altogether 36 numbers including farmers and rural youths attended the training.
