Exploration Cum Diagnostic Visit

 

A team of Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Anjaw conducted an exploration visit on 12th  of January, 2016 at Chaglagam circle, which is one of the highest producer of L.  Cardamom in the district, where  KVK  scientists  made  an  interaction  with  the  farmers  and  know  about  their  cultivation practices and understand their marketing issues of large Cardamom in the presence of Sh. Aniyang Ratan, Circle Officer.  In this context,  KVK  Scientists got the opportunity  to visit the last village of India situated at the extreme South Western part of the district located at 2540  South West with longitude 28019’21” latitude   96036”1’ with altitude of 1350 msl.  In this visit we came to  know that  farmers  were  involved  in  collection  and  involved  in  unregulated  marketing  of  endangered indigenous herbs and  Kida Mushroom (Cordypsis Sinensis).  Mostly Farmers were planned  their visits in the month of June and July when ice melt on the mountains. The team was headed by Dr. Manish Kanwat  Senior Scientist  cum Head  along  with Subject  Matter  Specialist,  Mr.  S.  Peter Singh (Social Sciences) and  Mr.  Senpon  Ngomle (Plant  Protection).  Sh.  Aniyang Ratan,  Circle Officer urged  to  KVK  Anjaw should  conduct  some training programme which helps to  provide awareness about to preserve their locally  available  flora and fauna.
