ICAR-KVK, West Siang Conducted Three Days Training Programme on Entrepreneurial Skill Development of Farmers of West Siang District
Agriculture is the primary livelihood of people of West Siang district. Keeping this in view, KVK West Siang conducted 3 days (2nd to 4th Novemeber, 2016) training programme entitled, “Entrepreneurial Skill Development of Farmers of West Siang District”. On the 1st day of 2ndNovember, 2016 around 23 farmers (20 nos. farm women and 3 nos. rural youth) from different villages of West Siang district attended the said training programme with their full of interest to learn the technique of establishment of agricultural enterprise in a business mode.The main objective of the training programme was skill development of the farmers of the West Siang district in establishment of agricultural enterprises. The programme also emphasized on triggering the minds of the trainees towards the entrepreneurship development through lectures followed by practicals and demonstrations by different expert from KVK-West Siang on different themes i.e. seed production, mushroom cultivation, vermicompost, poultry/ piggery farming, value addition in fruits and spices etc. The inaugural session begun with welcome addressed by Patron of the organizing committee Dr. R. Bhagawati, JD of ICAR RC for NEHR-Arunachal Pradesh Centre, Basar and Course Director Dr. Chitrangad Singh Raghav, Programme Coordinator of the KVK. Trainers tried to inculcate the knowledge and business skills of entrepreneurship development among all trainees in 3 days in horticulture, soil science, animal science, home science, extension and plant protection. Mr. Debashis Datta, Course Coordinator evaluated the knowledge of the trainees through pre and post evaluation process. On the last day of the programme trainees received certificate from the competent authority for attend the training programme.
