Distribution of planting materials organized by ICAR AP Centre Basar in collaboration with KVK Longding

Longding district is a newly formed district, carved out from south-western portion of the Tirap District. It shares boundary to the south  with Myanmar and west and the north are shared with Nagaland and Assam, respectively.

The climatic condition of the district is highly favourable for horticultural crops but due to lack of scientific backstopping and its locational disadvantage, the farmers obtain very less yield from the cultivated crop and thus the district is considered as one of the backward district in the state.

For the  betterment of the  farming community of Longding  district,  ICAR AP Centre Basar  in collaboration with KVK Longding  organised distribution programme of  planting  materials of Large Cardamom , Citrus and Dragon fruit  under the Project on “ Integrated Horticulture including Fisheries for NEH Region of India” funded by North East Council (NEC). During the programme 28000 suckers/saplings of Large Cardamom, Citrus and Dragon fruits were distributed.
