Two Days workshop on District contingency plans of Arunachal Pradesh Concluded

Two days workshop on “District Contingency Plans of Arunachal Pradesh” from 3rd to 4th June,2015 held at ICAR Research Complex for NEH Region, Arunachal Pradesh Centre, Basar was concluded today. At the outset, Dr A. K. Tripathy, i/c Zonal Project Director, Zone-III graced the programme as Chief Guest, Dr R. Bhagawati, Jt. Director, ICAR, A. P. Centre as the President, Dr G. Rabindra Charry, Principal Scientist, CRIDA (Hyderabad) as the Guest of Honour, Dr Deepjyoti Rajkhowa, Principal Scientist & Head (Agronomy), Dr Samar Hazarika, Principal Scientist & Head (Soil Science), Dr S. K. Das, Principal Scientist & Head (Fisheries) from ICAR Research Complex for NEH Region, Umiam (Meghalaya), Dr P. K. Sarmah, Chief Scientist and Dr P. Neog, Associate Professor, BNCA(AAU), Mr A. Kirankumar Singh, i/c Programme Coordinator, KVK West Siang, scientists from ICAR, Basar Dr Rajesh Alone, (Agroforestry), Dr Doni Jini, (Vety. Extn.), Dr Anup Chandra (Agril. Entomology), Mr Raghuveer Singh (Pathology), Mr Jitendra Kumar (Soil & Water Conservation), Mr Letngam Touthang (Plant Breeding), Mr Tehjangulie Angami (Horticulture), Mr Badapmain Makdoh (Agronomy), Mr Nirmal (Agroforestry), Mr Rahul Das (Fisheries), Smt Rita Nongthombam, SMS (Plant Breeding, Dr Suraj Singh, SMS (Plant Protection), Mr Debasis Datta, SMS (Agril. Extn.), Smt Bharati Saloi (Programme Assistant, Home Science) of KVK West Siang; Dr Tilling Tayo, i/c Programme Coordinator, KVK Anjaw. The line department extension functionaries, Shri Toli Bam, SDAO, Basar, Dr Dagge, Sr. Vety. Officer and Shri Zumsen Bam, ADO (MCP), Basar represented their respective departments in the workshop.Above all, the Technical Officer of AMFU, Basar, Shri Ps. Rolling Anal also participated the programme with valuable inputs of weather data of all the districts for discussion. The Programme Coordinators and SMSs representatives from different KVKs of Arunachal Pradesh Dr Mahesh Pathak (East Siang), Dr Narendra Kumar, (Changlang), Dr Deepanjali Deori (Upper Subansiri), Dr W. Purnima Devi and Shri P. P. Tripathi (East Kameng), Shri C. R.
Singh (Tawang), Miss Monika Panggam (Lower Dibang Valley), Shri Piyush R. Pandey (Upper Siang), Shri T. S. Mishra (West Kameng), Shri Yowa Nuru (Lower Subansiri) presented their respective District Contingency Plans and discussed thoroughly in the technical session and recommendations were made as per the prevailing situation of the respective districts. The Programme Coordinators from Tirap, Papumpare, and Lohit were not present in the workshop. The house recommended that the District Contingency Plans of the newly established districts will be prepared by the nearby KVKs i.e. Namsai by KVK Lohit, Longding by KVK Tirap and Kurungkumey by KVK Lower Subansiri respectively.
