KVK Anjaw Conducted Training on Integrated Disease Management in Citrus
Citrus being one of the important fruit crops of Anjaw district of Arunachal Pradesh, the management of citrus disease is very much important to achieve highest return from citrus cultivation. Keeping these facts in view, KVK, Anjaw organize a two days (5th and 6th August, 2015) training programme on Integrated disease management in Citrus at Sopliang. The key objective of the training is to broaden the participant’s knowledge on Integrated Disease Management of Citrus by emphasizing more on bio control. Altogether 60 farmers including rural youth and women participated in the training programme. Dr. Tiling Tayo, Programmme Coordinator in charge, ICAR, KVK Anjaw welcomed the participants and briefed the gathering about the importance of organizing this training and also highlighted the role of Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK) in Agri. and allied field.
Mr. Senpon Ngomle, Subject Matter Specialist (Plant Protection), coordinator of the training programmed delivered his lecture in details about integrated disease management of Citrus and he emphasized more on organic management methods such as use of bio control agents, botanicals, selection of healthy and disease free seed and ask them to go for scientific package and practices of Citrus Cultivation. This was followed by method demonstration of Bordeaux paste preparation.
Subject Matter Specialist Mr. S. P Singh (Social Sciences), Miss. Rebecca Eko (Horticulture), Mr. K. Naveen (Agronomy) and Er. U. Bhandari also spoke about their respective field of specialization. At the end Sorem Chaitom, local interpreter delivered the vote of thanks.
