Training Programme on “Advances in Microscopy” Organized

 

21st January 2015, Mumbai

ICAR-Central Institute of Research on Cotton Technology, Mumbai organized a specialized training programme on “Advances in Microscopy” during January 19-21, 2015. This self-sponsored training programme was attended by ten participants from   Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Himachal Pradesh, Assam and Maharashtra. The participants were from diversified background, viz., students, faculties, scientists and industry. Hands-on training was provided in the fields of polarized, fluorescence, atomic force and scanning electron microscopy.

   

Dr. B. S. Bisht, Director of Birla Institute of Applied Sciences (BIAS), Bhimtal, Uttarakhand & Former Vice Chancellor, GBPUA&T, Pantnagar distributed the certificates to the participants of the training programme on “Advances in Microscopy” on 21st January 2015. He elaborated the importance of microscopic techniques in screening of molecules having anti-cancer potential.

This occasion was graced by the presence of Dr. K. M. Parallikar, Former Head, TTD, ICAR-CIRCOT and Fellow of the Royal Microscopical Society, England and Dr. A. J. Shaikh as Guest of Honour.

Dr. P. G. Patil, Director, ICAR-CIRCOT felicitated the distinguished guests and congratulated the participants of this training programme for their keen interest in learning advanced techniques. 

The valedictory function ended with vote of thanks by Er. A. K. Bharimalla, Course Director and Head, TTD, ICAR-CIRCOT.
