Celebration of Seva Diwas
As part of the ongoing “Swachhta Hi Seva” campaign from 15th September to 2nd October, KVK Ri Bhoi organized Seva Diwas on 17th September 2017. All the staffs of the KVK Ri Bhoi were involved in the cleaning and sweeping of the entire office of the KVK as well as surrounding areas of the office.
Celebration of Samagra Swacchta Diwas-cum-Public Function
On 24th of September 2017, KVK Ri Bhoi organized Samagra Swachhta Diwas-cum-Public Function at Little Blossom L.P. School, Thadnongiaw village as part of the ongoing “Swachhta Hi Seva” campaign from 15th September to 2nd October, 2017. The event started with a welcome address by Smt. Plenty Makri, a social worker of the village wherein she expressed her thanks to the staff of the KVK for organizing the event at the village. During the course of the event, awareness on proper toilet facilities, hygiene and sanitation as well as importance of compost pit were conducted to the participants.
A cleaning drive of the school as well as its surroundings was also conducted along with the demonstration on compost pit. T-shirts, sponsored by Star Cement Pvt. Ltd., Shillong, were distributed to the participants during the programme. The programme was attended by 50 participants from the village.
Sarwatra Swachhta-cum-Swachhta of Nearby Tourist Spot
Sarwatra Swachhta-cum-Swachhta of Nearby Tourist Spot was organized by KVK Ri Bhoi on 25th of September, 2017 at the Umiam Lake View Point. During the programme, awareness on benefits of keeping the area clean was imparted to the small vendors located at the viewpoint. A cleaning drive was also organized which involved the KVK Staffs as well as the vendors and tourist who were visiting the spot. T-shirts, sponsored by Dalmia Bharat Cement Pvt. Ltd., Shillong, were distributed to the participants during the programme.
