ICAR, KVK, West Garo Hills, Meghalaya Organized Field Day “Improved Variety and Technology” under CFLD on Rabi Oilseeds
A field day on Toria (Variety: TS-36) was organized at Haripur village on 17th January, 2018 under CFLD on Rabi Oilseeds programme in which farmers of Haripur and adjacent village participated the programme. The field day started with a field visit to the demonstration plots of Haripur village. The objective of the programme was to showcase and popularize the improved variety of Toria (TS-36) and to interact with farmers regarding the cultivation techniques. Shri N. Arunkumar Singh, SMS (SWCE), KVK, West Garo Hills welcome the participants and explained about the importance of field day and the crop characteristics of Toria (Var. TS-36). He interacted the farmers and told them to compare the difference in productivity, profitability with the local cultivar. After the interaction programme, the local farmers appreciated about the demonstrated technology and requested KVK to organize such programmes regularly.
