KVK- West Siang conducts Capacity Building Programme for farmers

A multidisciplinary training programme has been organized by Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK)-West Siang district on 3rd February’2016 at Pagi village (NICRA-TDC project site). The training coordinator (Mr. Debashis Datta, Subject Matter Specialist of Agril. Extension) delivered lecture on “Credit Linkages for Crops & Livestock’s”. Mr. Datta also explained about different central schemes for accessing agricultural credit by formation of SHGs, Farmers’ club, Kisan gosthi etc. Simultaneously, expert (Miss W. Rekhung) of Soil Science explained on “Soil fertility management through different organic sources” and importance of Soil Health Card. Smt. Bharti Saloi (expert, Home Science) emphasised on processing /value addition of fruits & vegetables to minimize the post harvest losses and income generation. A total of 23 nos. (male- 16 nos. and female- 7 nos.) of participants were trained by the trainers. Training leaflets (information brochure) were also distributed to the participants in the programme. Farmers were happy and gave positive feedback.
