Capacity Building for Adoption Of Technology (Cat)
ICAR-KVK Ri-Bhoi, Umiam organized a training cum exposure visit under “Capacity Building for Adoption of Technology (CAT)” programme of NABARD on 19th January, 2017 at KVK Ri-Bhoi. A group of 27 farmers belonging to two farmers’ club formed by NABARD attended the programme. The group of farmers were led by Mrs. S.N. Lamare, DDM NABARD, Nongpoh. Three exposure trips were undertaken to divisional farms of Horticulture, Livestock Production and KVK and various technologies like AI in pig, goat rearing, crop cultivation under various types of polyhouses were demonstrated to them during the farm visits. Various AV aids were used to impart training on vegetable and flower cultivation under low cost polyhouse, integrated framing system, mushroom growing and pest disease management, rearing and management of livestock were taken by SMS Horticulture, SMS Soil Science, SMS Plant protection and SRF NICRA respectively. A film on Polyhouse for tomato and capsicum cultivation was also shown to them.
The programme ended with feedback and interaction session of the farmers. SMS Horticulture of KVK Ri-Bhoi thanked NABARD for sponsoring the progarmme and wished to conduct more collaborative programmes with NABARD in future.
