Great Response on System of Rice Intensification (SRI) from Farmers
Basar 28th July,2014 : As a part of the promotion of the System of Rice Intensification (SRI) in Arunachal Pradesh Shri A. Kirankumar Singh, i/c Programme Coordinator, KVK West Siang has been working since the last three years under the SRI-A Pilot Project under RKVY by demonstrating the system in different districts of the state. It has been witnessed in the farmers’ field who were involved in this project by the fellow farmers in the villages. Because of this reason, the system is gaining popularity day by day and proposal to demonstrate in other farmers’ field also through the KVK West Siang. Accepting the proposal, Shri Singh has conducted a demonstration programme of the system in Shri Boomi Doye’s field today the 28th July,2014 with the transplantation of rice variety RCM-10 and RCM-11 and Shri Henmar Ngomdir’s field at Kadi and New Bam areas.
