ICAR RC for NEH Region, AP-Centre, Basar Conducted Training

 

A one day programme on Awareness cum Training on Participatory Seed Production was conducted today, the 25th Oct’2016 at Training Hostel Gori Research Farm under “ICAR NSP Seed Project”. Welcome address was given by Thejangulie Angami. Farmers from different villages located under West Siang District attended the programme.  The programme was enlightened by Letngam Tauthang, Scientist PBG (Nodal Officer) about the concept and principle of Participatory Seed Production. The programme was followed by power point presentation by Dr. Rita Nongthombam on Scientific Method of Seed Production of Pea and Rapeseed, also discussed with the farmers on various aspects of seed production and awareness for timely availability of seed. Badapmain Makdoh, Scientist Agron. delivered lecture on Resource Conservation technology – one of the most important issue of the present situation in West Siang District. Methods and importance of raising nursery for cole crops was highlighted in details through power point by Hort. Scientist, Thejangulie Angami. Kshitiz Kumar Shukla (SRF) demonstrated soil sampling and explained the importance of soil health for raising healthy seedlings of vegetable crops. The programme was concluded with vote of thanks by Dr. Rita Nongthombam and seed distribution to all the participants.
