Trainer’s Training on Scientific Backyard Poultry Farming for Anganwadi Workers of Nagaland
Four days “Trainer’s Training on Scientific Backyard Poultry Farming for Anganwadi Workers of Nagaland” was organized on 22nd June 2016 to 25th June 2016 by ICAR Nagaland Centre and KVK Dimapur in collaboration with Department of Social Welfare, Nagaland at ICAR Nagaland Centre, Jharnapani.
A total of 30 Anganwadi workers from Kohima, Medziphema, Diphupar and Dimapur were attended the training programme. Addressing to the participants, The Joint Director of ICAR Nagaland Centre emphasized upon the Entrepreneurship development in the field of poultry and piggery in Nagaland. He further elaborated the various strategies to be adapted for mitigating the climate change effects on livestock. The chief guest of the function, Dr. Zubeni Tsanglao, IFS, Assistant Forest Conservator, officer incharge, Niuland range, Dimapur lauded the efforts of ICAR Nagaland Centre for transforming the life of rural tribal folk of Nagaland. She asked the participants for further spread of the learned technology to the rural farmers. She emphasized on adoption of scientific technology developed by ICAR Nagaland Centre for enhancing the meat production in the Nagaland state to achieve the self sufficiency in this area. The chief guest distributed the Vanaraja and Srinidhi day old chicks to the participants.
