Awareness Cum Tools & Implements Distribution to SHGs of Tribal farmers organized by KVK Ri-Bhoi.
Awareness cum distribution programme on tools and implements was organized by KVK Ri Bhoi, ICAR Research Complex for NEH Region, Umiam for the tribal farmers and farm women of Kyrdem village under NICRA project on 4th February, 2017. A total of 40 farmers participated in the said distribution programme. The programme was coordinated by SMS, Agronomy, Soil Science and Plant Protection along with SRF of NICRA project of KVK Ri-Bhoi. The farmers were explained about the importance and the use of knapsack sprayer, furrow opener and adjustable row marker. Also they were practically demonstrated about its uses in farm operations. A total of 15 knapsack sprayer, 10 adjustable row markers and 15 furrow openers were distributed to the 6 Self Help Groups of the village. A farmer- scientist interaction was also held where the farmers’ queries were taken care of related to the use of tools and implements. Farmers were very happy to get small tools and implements for their use in carrying out the agricultural farm operations.
