Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Anjaw organise 1-day training programme on mushroom cultivation in Metengliang on 11th September, 2017. More than 30 rural youth attended the training. The training programme was coordinated by Dr. Senpon Ngomle, Subject matter specialist (Plant Protection).He acquainted the participants about various aspect of mushroom cultivation and imparted training on the cultivation of Oyster mushroom commonly known as “Dhingri” in India.
Oyster mushroom is one of the most suitable fungi which provide protein rich food from various agro wastes without composting. Due to the favourable climatic condition of Metengliang village, Dr. Senpon Ngomle laid more stresses on its cultivation.
Discussion followed on the value added products of mushroom by Rebecca Eko (SMS Horticulture), she urges participants to start cultivating mushroom on commercial scale.
