Two days training and one day field visit conducted by KVK West Siang at Basar
Basar, the 17th Jan., 2015. A two days training cum one day field visit was conducted by KVK West Siang from 15th to 17th Jan., 2015 in collaboration with FASCE India, SFS School, Basar on “Improved Livestock Husbandry Practices”. On the first day, Dr Doni Jini, Scientist (Vety. Extn.) delivered lecture on “Livestock Farming for Higher Income Generation for Livelihood Improvement”, Mr A. Kirankumar Singh, i/c Programme Coordinator on “Strategies for Higher Production and Productivity for Livelihood Improvement of the Farmers” and Dr Bali Yomgam, Technician (Ani. Science) on “Common Diseases of Livestock and Poultry”. The programme was attended by 42 farmers with great enthusiasm and interest on different aspects. On the second day, Mr Ashutosh Shahi delivered his lecture on “Global Warming and Its Impact on Environment” Dr Rajesh Alone, Scientist (Agroforestry) on “Importance of Agroforestry for Conservation of Nature and Agricultural Production” Mr A. Kirankumar Singh i/c Programme Coordinator on “The Role of Students in Agricultural Development”; Dr Tulan Borah, Technician (Ani. Science) on Dairy Farming for Livelihood Improvement” and Dr Doni Jini on “Zoonotic Diseases-Their Prevention and Control” The programme was attended by around 220 school students of different classes from Kargo Basar Brighten English Academy, Gori Middle School and SFS School, Basar. And on the last day, a field visit of the farmers was conducted at ICAR Research Farm, Gori guided by Dr Doni Jini to Pig Farming (Bokashi), Mr A. Kirankumar Singh to zero tillage of lentil, rapeseed/mustard field, tuber crops, bamboorium, agroforestry, water harvesting structure (jalkund) and agrometeorology; Dr Tulan Borah to Dairy Farm and Mr Bhoben Pait to Vermicomposting unit to fulfill the expectations of the participants whatever the technical guidance and informations are required. After the field visit, an interactive session was held and feedbacks from the participants were taken and lastly the vaccines for pig and poultry were distributed to the participants by Dr Doni Jini, Mr A. Kirankumar Singh and Father Thomash Paul. The programme was successfully organized with the able leadership of Father Thomash Paul, Principal, SFS School, Basar along with Sister Lucy, Sister Pushpa, Sister Asunta, Sister Jyosy and FASCE India staffs Mr Tummar Riba, Nyomo Nyodu, Mrs Rimi Ngomdir and Mrs Tummen Basar.
