ICAR Research Complex for NEH Region Participated in the Pride of India Exhibition in the 105th Indian Science Congress.

The 105th Indian Science Congress held at Manipur University, Imphal, Manipur (16-20 March, 2018) with the theme “Reaching the Unreached Through Science and Technology” was inaugurated by the Hon’ble Prime Minister of India Shri Narendra Modi in which about 5,000 delegates, scholars, students and other officials attended. The inaugural function was also graced by the Hon’ble Chief Minister of Manipur Shri N. Biren Singh; Dr. Harsh Vardhan, Union Minister of Science and Technology, Environment, Forest and Climate change; Her excellency Dr. Najma Heptullah, Hon’ble Governor of Manipur; Dr. Adya Prasad Pandey, Vice-Chancellor, Manipur University and Prof. Achyuta Samamta, General Secretary, Indian Science Congress. ICAR Research Complex for NEH Region (Manipur Centre) along with ICAR-NRC Yak, Arunachal Pradesh and ICAR-NRC Mithun, Nagaland participated in the “Pride of India” exhibition and showcased various technologies developed like farming system models for high altitude, mid altitude and valley region respectively for the farming community of the region. Besides these, strategies for doubling the farmer’s income, success stories, publications and value added products developed by the progressive farmers and medium & small entrepreneurs in Food Processing under the ICAR Research Complex for NEH Region, Manipur Centre and its five KVKs in five districts of Manipur are displayed to the public.
