Trainers Workshop on Trends in Harvest and post-harvest Fisheries

 

The ICAR Research complex for NEH Region recently organized a one day Trainers Workshop on Trends in Harvest and post-harvest Fisheries in collaboration with the ICAR –CIFT (Central Institute of Fisheries technology, Kochi, Kerala), Visakhapatnam Research centre, Andhra Pradesh and Department of Fisheries, Govt. of Meghalaya on 20th November, 2015  at the ICAR research complex ,Umiam, Meghalaya.  The basic objective of the workshop was to expose the officials of the department of Fisheries, Govt. of Meghalaya to the latest technologies in post-harvest fisheries. Dr. C.N.Ravishankar ,Director, CIFT, Kochi, Dr.S.V.Ngachan, Director of ICAR Research complex, Umiam, Meghalaya and Mrs. I.R.Sangma ,Director, Department of Fisheries, Meghalaya inaugurated the workshop in presence of Dr. M.M.Prasad, Principal Scientist and nodal officer NEH and Dr. S.K.Das, Principal scientist and Head , Division of Fisheries ICAR Research complex ,Umiam, Meghalaya.

Dr. T.V.Shankar, Dr. Pravin Putra, Dr. G.Rajeswari, Dr. Remesan , Dr.George Ninan ,Dr. M.M.Prasad Principal scientists of  ICAR-CIFT and Dr. S.K.Das, ICAR RC, Umaim acted as resource person . A total of 26 district level Fisheries officers of the state of Meghalaya participated in the day-long programme. The workshop is expected to benefit the officials of the Department of Fisheries, Govt. of Meghalaya in dissemination of appropriate technologies to the end users.
