NRCPB Celebrated Foundation Day

ICAR-National Research Centre on Plant Biotechnology, New Delhi, celebrated its Foundation day here today. The function was presided over by Dr CR Bhatia, Former Secretary DBT, Govt of India and Dr Swapan K. Datta, Deputy Director General (Crop Science), ICAR was Guest of Honour. In his remarks, Dr. Datta, stressed that Centre has done commendable job in the past and should excel in the frontier areas of research and development in biotechnology.
Dr. RB Singh, Former President NAAS, Dr RP Sharma, Former PD, NRCPB and Dr KC Bansal, Director NBPGR recalled the creation of centre of excellence in the area of agricultural biotechnology.
Dr TR Sharma, Project Director welcomed the guests from ICAR and sister institutions of PUSA Campus. He made a brief presentation on achievements of centre in last 30 years in area of biotechnology and the generation of human resources all over the country.
First issue of NRCPB Newsletter was released by the Chief Guet and new website of NRCPB and Biotech club was also launched. Former PDs, Professors and retired senior staff were felicitated at this occasion. Dr NK Singh, National Professor proposed a vote of thanks.
