“Importance of microfinance for livelihood support among farm women and rural youths”

 

A one day training programme on “Importance of microfinance for livelihood support among warm women and rural youths”was organized by KVK Anjaw at Nilang village on 1st December, 2016. Altogether 25 rural youths including farm women representing from Nilang women SHG and Farmers Club were participated in the training programme. S. Peter Singh, SMS, Social Sciences stated that the Nilang SHGs was formed in the year 2011 but till yet no such activities have been taken up for generation of income due to lack of capacity building, knowledge and exposure. The key objectives for organizing the training programme was to make more aware regarding the income generation activities through bridging theses gaps and taking up of short duration activities like vegetable cultivation, food processing, poultry farming among the groups. On the other side, information were also imparted for mobilization of savings among the groups for creation of revenue for the groups. At the end of the programme the members of the SHGs and FCs were distributed with vegetable seeds.
