Local Germplasm Collection cum field visit conducted by KVK Anjaw

 

KVK Anjaw in it’s continue effort for collection, conservation and preservations of local germplasm have conducted local germplasm collection cum field visit of villages in Walong and Kibithoo circle of Anjaw district from 14 to 16th September 2017. The team comprises of Khoisnam Naveen (SMS, Agronomy) and Keshab CH. Gogoi (Programme Assistant). The team collected different germplasm comprising of maize, miniature pumpkin, chilies, muskmelon, and tomato. During the field visits the team interacted with farmers from Bara kundan, Chota Kundan, Moshai, Chakung, Walong Village, Namti, Kahao and Gai village. During the interaction Khoisnam Naveen (SMS  agronomy) apprise the villagers  about the benefits of Plant Protection farmers Rights Act and the need for conservation of local germplasm. The team also praise the work done Badulu Manyu a progressive farmer from Gai village under Walong CD block for her  continue efforts in conserving different local germplasm.
