Successfully conducted a multidisciplinary Capacity Building programme by KVK WestSiang and ICAR-Arunachal Pradesh Centre, Basar:A Joint venture

A day long training programme was organized for the farming community of Basar circle on 17th June, 2016 at Disi village community hall. The programme started with the registration of interested participants at 9.30 AM. All total 40 nos. of youth (25 nos.) & farm women (15 nos.) were registered to attend the programme. In the inaugural session, Mr. Token Riba, Secretary, VLCRMC (NICRA-TDC) gave welcome address to the Resource persons on the dias namely; Mr. Thejangulie Angami (Scientist, Horticulture), Mr. Rahul Das (Scientist, Aquaculture) Mr. Debashis Datta (SMS, Agril. Extension, KVK-West Siang) from ICAR-Arunachal Pradesh Centre and all the trainees. Technical session started with the address of scientist (Mr. Rahul Das) on ‘scientific fish culture’ envisages the pre-stocking, stocking, and post-stocking aquaculture management practices. The expert emphasized on composite fish culture technique for higher profit. SMS (Mr. Debashis Datta) highlighted on advantages of formation of farmers club i.e. community approach for empowering the farmers. He also stressed on ‘Formation & management of farmers club for easy access to institutional credit’ and motivated them through film show. Scientist (Mr. Thejangulie Angami) spoke on ‘production of quality planting materials in Khasi Mandarin through Budding & nuceller seedling selection’. The professional also gave hands on training to the trainees on I-Budding technique through method demonstration. The programme ended with thanks given by the participants with their positive feedback.
