Field and laboratory visits conducted for the B. Sc. (Horticulture) students of Collage of Horticulture, Selesih at ICAR Research Complex for NEH Region, Mizoram Centre, Kolasib

Field and laboratory visits were conducted for the B. Sc. (Horticulture) students first year of Collage of Horticulture, Central Agricultural University, Selesih, Aizawl, Mizoram 796014, on 28th October 2016, aiming to give the practical acquaintance of research and development activities in different aspects of Agriculture, Horticulture and Veterinary Sciences. Total 17 B. Sc. students attended the visit under the guidance of Dr. Santosh Mishra (KVK Scientist, Horticulture) and Dr. Sapam Rajesh Kumar Singh (Teaching Associate). Dr. Lungmuana, Scientist (Soil Science) and Dr. Saurav Saha, Scientist (Agril. Physics) greeted the gathering. Dr. Lungmuana, demonstrated different equipments of central laboratory of ICAR Research Complex for NEH Region, Mizoram Centre. Dr. Saurav Saha led the mass to demonstrate the ongoing Research and Development activities and visited the newly established Agro-meteorological Observatory (Class-B) in the research farm. Later on, Mr. Nameirakbam Hemanta Singh (SRF, NICRA) demonstrated the techniques for culturing of different mushroom species. Dr. Sanjenbam Dayananda Singh (SRF, MIDH) demonstrated Dragon fruits cultivation practices and Mr. Samik Chowdhury (Technical officer, GKMS) gave presentation on the brief activities, carried out under Gramin Krishi Mausam Seva Project (GKMS) to increase the farming resilience of farmers in Mizoram.
