Integrated Training and Demonstration programme conducted by ICAR RC for NEH Region, Arunachal Pradesh Centre, Basar scientists at Menchukha.

Training cum demonstration and inputs distribution programme was organized at Dechengthang village (28o37’29”N, 94o6’30”E at the elevation of 1980 meter MSL) Menchukha, West Siang District of Arunachal Pradesh on 3th June’ 2016 onwards. Under the programme around 30 numbers of resource poor farmers attended the aforesaid programme from Dechengthang East, Dechengthang West and Singber village areas. The programme was coordinated by Sh. Rahul Das, scientist (Aquaculture) where various management aspects of cold water fish culture technique (NFDB, Hyderabad sponsored) in terms of liming, stocking, feeding, fish health care were thoroughly discussed.  

Sh. Thejangulie Angami, scientist (Horticulture) discussed Kiwifruit production technique (under Tribal Sub-Plan) involving proper planting and layout maintaining the male female ratio, training and pruning, thinning encouraging the farmers to go for intercropping in early years of Kiwifruit plantation.

Dr. Doni Jini, scientist (Veterinary Extension Education) carried a thorough discussion animal health management and clinical aspects (under Tribal Sub-Plan).

At the end of discussion, inputs like veterinary medicine, first aid kit, and quality vegetable seeds were distributed among the farmers. We acknowledge our sincere thanks to Sh. Dorjee Phurba Maney (Gram Chairman of 17/3 Panchayat Segment, Dechengthang) for helping us to conduct the programme in befitting manner. The farmers highly appreciated the kind gesture and help extended from ICAR RC for NEH Region, Arunachal Pradesh Centre, Basar seeking active participation and cooperation in near future.
