Successfully produced first Vanaraja chicks at ICAR Arunachal Pradesh Centre, Basar

To address the issue of non-availability of day old poultry chicks for the farming community of this hilly region, KVK West Siang in collaboration with ICAR AP Centre, Basar, Arunachal Pradesh established a mini hatchery unit with a capacity of 2700 chicks per batch along with two parent dual purpose (for both meat and egg) poultry unit with Vanaraja and Kamrupa birds. After an incredible effort, on 4th October, 2015 from that said hatchery unit a batch of day old chicks were produced for the first time and rearing successfully in the poultry unit of KVK farm Bame of KVK West Siang. Dr. R. Bhagawati, the Joint Director, ICAR AP Centre, Basar congratulate all the associated scientific and technical staff for their untiring efforts for that said venture.He also express that it is definitely a big breakthrough in the history of ICAR Arunachal Pradesh centre, Basar and it enhanced the capacity to improve the livelihood of rural youth and progressive farmers to revolutionize the commercial poultry production scenario of the district.
