Union Minister of Agriculture interacts with scientists of ICAR institutes and KVKs

The Union Agriculture Minister, Sri Radha Mohan Singh, interacted with the officials of ICAR institutes located at Ranchi and adjoining areas in the ‘Palas Sabha Griha’ of Indian Institute of Natural Resins and Gums.

The Union Agriculture Minister interacted with the individual scientists and appreciated the contribution of ICAR Institutes in the region. He urged the scientists to enhance the pace of work of development activities and called for better co-ordination and vibrant role of the Krishi Vigyan Kendras (KVKs) in reaching the knowledge to farmers. The Union Agriculture Minister emphasized on speedy implementation of soil- health card for all farmers and the role of KVKs in this initiative. He also released the launch brochure of a new network project on ‘Conservation of lac insect genetic resources’ besides four other institute publications.

On the occasion, Dr S. Ayyappan (Secretary, DARE and DG, ICAR) welcomed the Union Agriculture Minister and his team. Dr R. Ramani (Director, IINRG) briefed about the history and achievements of the Institute during the discussion.
