KVK Anjaw conducted training on improved production technology of pea

 

Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Anjaw organised a training programme on “Improved Production Technology of Pea”at Kongra village under Hayuliang circle on 26th November 2016. All together 18 farmers, farm women attended the said training programme. The programme was chaired by Khoisnam Naveen (SMS, Agronomy). During the training programme he stressed upon major problems affecting pea production for higher yield like nutrient management, weeds, major pests and diseases of pea. He also highlighted the importance of pulses crop in human diet as well as in cropping system for improving soil fertility. He urged the farmers for more adoption of other pulses crop production for increasing the area as well as production under pulses crop in the district as area and production under pulses crop are quite low as compared to national average.Later, demonstration on drudgery reduction through maize sheller was shown to the farmers present at the training programme. Prasanta Mahanta (Farm manager) also spoke on the benefits of nursery raising of vegetables crop.
