KVK West Siang organized Skill Development Programme for rural women youth on value addition of orange.

39 participants underwent a day-long training programme on Skill Development programme organised for rural women youth on value addition of orange by the KVK, West Siang at Soi Village,Basar today. During the programme, Training Coordinator, Bharati Saloi explained about Skill development programme for rural women youth on value addition of orange which can help farm women to generate  more  income.  She  also  emphasized  on  women  empowerment  in  the  society  through development  of  agricultural  enterprises  and  minimizing  the  post-harvest  losses  of  fruits  and vegetables by a hands on training on preparation of orange juice s well as pickle. Dr. MS Baruah In charge Senior Scientist & Head, KVK West Siang explained the importance of the training. He also briefed the participants about the benefit of SHG in village and suggested to improve the activities of SHGs. Dr. K.Suraj Singh also associated with the programme.

At the end of the day, they were very much satisfied and appreciated the KVK and ICAR-AP Centre, Basar for working hard for development of the farming community of Arunachal Pradesh, Participants assured that they will try their level best to implement the technologies learnt from the daylong training programme at home and try to expand horizontally for sustainability.
