Rashtriya Krishi Vigyan Mela organized

Two days National Agriculture Science Farmer’s Fair (Rashtriya Krishi Vigyan Mela) was inaugurated on 16th February, 2015 at ICAR-National Research Centre on Seed Spices, Ajmer.

 

The Mela was inaugurated by Chief Guest Dr. Shanti Lal Mehta, Ex Vice-Chancellor, MPUAT, Udaipur and Former DDG (Education) ICAR. Dr. Mehta told that farmers should come forward in right spirit to adopt the various good agricultural practices as well as technologies for quality production.  He advocated the use of precision farming, protected cultivation, cryogenic grinding of seed spices and sensor based farming for better output.

The function was presided by Prof. BR Chhipa, Vice-Chancellor, SKRAU, Bikaner, Rajasthan. Prof. Chhipa appreciated the efforts and research work of institute for seed spices.

Dr. Balraj Singh, Director, NRCSS, Ajmer welcomed all the guests and farmers with inaugural address explaining the achievements and activities of centre. He outlined the activities of two days Mela and stressed on the recently developed important varieties of seed spices like-ACR-1 of coriander which is resistant to stem gal (the major diseases of coriander) as well as AFg-3 of fenugreek which has high medicinal values.

Sri RA Mishra, GM, NABARD highlighted and introduced various schemes of bank for agriculture in special reference to seed spices to farmers.

 Sh HS Sharma, GM, BSNL, Ajmer also highlighted the role of ICT in agriculture. At end Dr. Gopal Lal convenor of Mela expressed vote of thanks to farmers, organizers and different stake holders participated.

In Mela various exhibitions covering different aspects of agriculture like organic farming, precision agriculture, IPM, protected cultivation, IFS and many more allied features were demonstrated by companies, GO and NGOs. 

Student community and trainees from UP also participated in the Mela. Quiz competition and Kissan Gosthi were another attraction of this Mela. On this occasion a series of lectures will be delivered on various topics by expert.

More than 2000 farmers participation on inaugural day of the event.
