KVK Anjaw Conduct Training On Oyster Mushroom Production

 

A one day training programme on Oyster Mushroom production was conducted at Chameling village (Hayuliang circle) under KVK, Anjaw on 10th July, 2015. The key objective of the training was to train the participant’s on Oyster Mushroom production. Altogether 55 farmers including rural youth and women participated in the training programme.  Mr. Senpon Ngomle, Subject Matter Specialist (Plant Protection), coordinator of the training programme highlighted the importance of Oyster mushroom and made a detail presentation on Oyster Mushroom cultivation, post-harvest management techniques and its insect pest management.  S Peter Singh, SMS (Social sciences) said that Mushroom cultivation has become a profitable business with the produce fetching good returns in the market because of the rise in demand for edible mushrooms, particularly oyster mushrooms, owing to their nutritional benefits. Miss Rebbeca Eko, SMS (Horticulture) welcomed the participants and briefed the gathering about the importance of organizing this training. At the end Khuweso Tamai, General Secretary of Farmers Club Hayuliang, delivered the vote of thanks.
