Conducted One Day Advisory Camp on Poultry Raring under Mera Gaon Mera Gaurav by Group No XII
One day advisory camp on poultry raring followed by poultry seed and feed distribution had been conducted by group no XII of ICAR Research Complex for NEH Region, Umiam, Meghalaya led by Dr. Premila Devi Thongbam under the programme Mera Gaon Mera Gaurav on 24th February, 2016 at Umden Mission, Ribhoi, Meghalaya. Eight hundred poultry seeds had been distributed to twenty numbers of well selected farmers (including five female) of the five villages adopted by the group (XII) viz Umden Mission (Ribhoi), Umden Arka (Ribhoi), Madan Mawkhar (East Khashi Hills), Umrynjah (East Khashi Hills) and Umphrew (East Khashi Hills). In the programme, Dr. K Puro delivered a lecture on poultry health and medicine followed by answering farmers query on poultry rearing. Recent technologies and economically viable techniques on poultry farming were explained by Dr. K. P. Mohapatra. Three sets of folders and leaflets on poultry farming were also distributed for quick reference of the farmers. An interactive discussion on livelihood improvement of the farmers ended the programme.
