ICAR Research Complex for NEH Region,Umiam, Meghalaya (MGMG Group-I) Organised Training cum Input Distribution Programmes in Umshorshor and Byrwa village under  TSP.

 

Two day training cum input distribution program was organized by ‘Mera Gaon, Mera Gaurav’ Group I of ICAR Research Complex for NEH Region, Umiam, Meghalaya  at Umshorshor and Byrwa village, Ri-Bhoi District, Meghalaya on 19.03.16  and 26.03.16, respectively, under the leadership of Dr. S.V. Ngachan, Director of the institute. During this two day programme, awareness on different animal husbandry practices, crop production, protection and agricultural implements were made by the scientists of the institute viz., Dr. R. Laha, Dr. Ramakrushna, G.I., Dr. D.M. Firake and Er. H. Jiten Singh. A total 90 farmers were participated from both the villages in this training programme and shown keen interest. A liaison between farmers and Scientists of the institute have been developed through these programmes. Training programmes were also followed by Animal Health Camps; where need based veterinary medicines and supplements were distributed among the farmers. Besides, inputs in the forms of piglets, seasonal vegetable seeds and spraying machines were also distributed among farmers to improve their livelihood. Various types of extension folders and leaflets were also provided to improve the knowledge of farmers regarding different agricultural technologies and practices. These programmes were supported under Tribal Sub Plan (TSP) of the Institute. At the end Dr. R. Laha, Principal Scientist and Group Leader (MGMG Group-I) offered vote of thanks.
