Livelihood Analysis of phaipheng – Bilkhawthlir West Through Participatory Rural Appraisal (PRA) Techniques Under National Mission Sustainable Hill Ecosystem (NMSHE)

ICAR Research Complex for NEH Region, Mizoram Centre carried out the Participatory Rural Appraisal (PRA) under NMSHE at Phaipheng – Bilkhawthlir West on 30th March, 2016 (Wednesday). Dr. Saurav Saha, Scientist (Nodal Officer and Co-PI, NMSHE), Dr. Lungmuana, Scientist (Soil Science), Dr. M. Thoithoi Devi Scientist (Agronomy), Dr. Vishambhar Dayal Scientist (Horticulture) and Mr. Samik Chowdhury, Technical Officer (GKMS) ICAR Mizoram Centre took the lead role for successful execution of the NMSHE activities and Miss. Manju Thapa Research Associate (NICRA), Mr. Thoudem Basanta Singh Research Associate, (AICRN on Potential Crop), Mr. Vanlalhmangaiha, Senior Research Fellow (AICRP, Spices), Mr. Vanthawmliana Senior Research Fellow (NICRA)  and Mr. C. Vanlalhmudika project Assistant (NMSHE) gave their assistance to their group leaders. Dr. Saurav Saha and his associates carried out the transact walk and collected information to prepare Agro-Ecological map of Phaipheng village. Dr. M. Thoithoi Devi and her associates made the social map and wealth ranking. Dr. Lungmuana and his associates prepared the mobility map, time line and time trend. Dr. Vishambhar Dayal and his associates assembled the technology map and matrix ranking activities.  Mr. Samik Chowdhury and his associates accomplished the livelihood analysis, documentation of different indigenous technology knowledge (ITK), problem and solution tree analysis.
