ICAR- Krishi Vigyan Kendra, West Siang district received first prize by showcasing of Traditional farming  

 

ICAR- Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK), West Siang district achieved first position by showcasing of Traditional farmingand Indigenous foods of Arunachal Pradesh in three days Exhibition Cum Workshop on “Traditional farming and Indigenous food of North East held at ICAR-RC for NEH Region, Bararpani, Meghalaya from 25-27th February, 2017. The main objective of the participation is to showcase the traditional culture of Arunachal Pradesh. It was a great opportunity and proud moment for ICAR-RC for NEH Region, Arunachal Pradesh Centre staff & farmers of the district to showcase the tradition of Arunachal Pradesh. Total 11 nos. of Participants (9 nos. progressive farmers) and 2 nos. official staff Dr. C.S. Raghav, Sr. Scientist & Head and Mr. Debashis Datta, SMS (Agril. Extension) of the KVK-West Siang for guiding the farmers. Participants are showcased their exhibit materials in the exhibition stall. Exhibit materials are like local vegetables i.e. Joko, Raro, Oik. Oyin etc. local fruits like Pake, Kukcho Lelo,Tali Bebo etc. and also shows live preparation of Poka (local rice beer), vegetables with chicken meat, rice cooked in bamboo. Participants also showcased handicrafts cloth items i.e. Gale and also Chuchak, Chugri, Ochi etc. which is made by cane, bamboo. Participants also shows their traditional (Mopin festival) dance during the programme with their traditional dresses. More than 70 nos. of exhibit items has been showcased & finally KVK-West Siang stall received 1st prize from the competent authority out of 38 nos. exhibition stall.
