KVK Namsai begun the Krishi Kalyan Abhiyan phase II from Noputia

 

On the occasion of 149th birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi 'Father of the Nation', government of India has initiated the Krishi Kalyan Abhiyan Phase-II w.e.f. Oct 2 to Dec 25.

In this continuation, KVK Namsai has begun the KKA activities at Napotia village of Namsai district with the objectives to boost the agriculture in selected villages of the district by implementing specified actions like soil testing, distribution of mini kits of winter season crop, horticulture/agro forestry plants, agricultural implements, making NADAP pits, 100% bovine and goat for PPR vaccinations, artificial insemination in cattle, special training on bee-keeping, mushroom cultivation and kitchen garden and other related activities. During the inauguration programme, Dr Manish Kanwat, Head KVK Namsai, delivered detailed information on KKA Phase II and encourage farmers to come forward to avail scientific knowledge on Agriculture and allied subject to improve the production potential and improve the family income. Dr. D Sasmal imparted training and demonstration on beekeeping while Dr. BKD Borah explain the importance of high yielding dairy animal in profitable dairy farming. The up gradation of local cow by using AI technique was also explained by him. Egg Inchen Namchoom explained about soil health card and soil sample collection. Importance of balance nutrition and production of scope of production of indigenous as well as exotic vegetable under Kitchen garden was explain by Dr S Kumar SMS of KVK Namsai. GB of the village encouraged farmers and the entire self help groups (SHGs) of Napotia village to adopt scientific agriculture and cultivation as per recommendation of scientist of KVK. Total 211 farmers and Farm women were participated in the programme.
