Jal Shakti Abhiyan: Organized by KVK, Khowai

 “Jal Shakti Abhiyan” was organised on 29th July, 2019 at North Pulinpur ADC Village  by  KrishiVigyan Kendra (KVK),Khowai. A total of 83 numbers of  farmers and farm women of North Pulinpur ADC Village as well as DuskiVillage of TeliamuraAgri-Subdivision of Khowai district, Tripura actively participated during the Programme. Dr.K.K Barman , Principal Scientist(Soil Science),ICAR research complex for NEH region  Tripura Centre, H. Veikhone Sophia K, Scientist-Ground Water Board, Mr. Dipankar Dey,Subject Matter Specialist-Soil Scence,Mr. Rajib Das,Subject Matter Specialist-Agril Extension, Mr. Amit Das, District Development Manager-NABARD,Mr. Subrata Choudhury,Programme Assistant-Fishery,Mr. Pradip Debbarma,Programme Assistant-Animal Science attended the programme as resource persons.

The Inaugural session was started with the reception and welcoming of the dignitaries and participating farmers along with lightening of lamp by the experts. Mr. Dipankar Dey in his welcome address explained the objectives of the programme along with  overall activity  of the KVK in relation to conservation of water throughout the district. He requested all sections of the society to join hand to tackle the adverse effect of climate change in their life in general and in agricultural activities in particular.

   

Dr. K.K Barman, Principal Scientist (Soil Science) interacted with the farmers and provided them various inputs on scientific management of natural resources. He also requested the farmers for proper ground water recharging. In his speech he has appreciated the efforts of KVK,  Khowai to promote scientific water conservation technologies to the farmers of North Pulinpur ADC Village through NICRA  and stressed upon mass replication of those successful technologies to the nearby villages through convergence mode.

Miss H. Veikhone Sophia K, Scientist-Ground Water Board discussed in details about the status of Ground water under Tripura as well as Khowai Tripura Condition.

Mr. Amit Das, District Development Manager-NABARD discussed various schemes of NABARD in relation to micro-irrigation.

Many of the progressive farmers of North Pulinpur ADC Village were felicitated during the occasion for their contribution in promotion of conservation agriculture in relation to NICRA.

Mr Subrata Coudhury, Programme Assistant- Fishery offered the Vote of Thanks.

At last all the  the Scientists, experts   visited   the exhibition stalls of the farmers where they have demonstrated their products which are grown under moisture stress condition by using various climate smart technologies.
