Training Programme On Integrated Nutrient Management For Higher Production In Rice Conducted By KVK West Siang

The training programme on “Integrated Nutrient Management for Higher Production in Rice” was conducted at Nyodu Village by Shri A. Kirankumar Singh, i/c Programme Coordinator, KVK West Siang, and ICAR Research Complex for NEH Region, A. P. Centre, Basar. The training programme was conducted under the sponsorship of SRI-A Pilot Project under RKVY. It was participated by 32 nos. of farmers with great enthusiasm and interest. During the programme, Shri Singh delivered his lecture through powerpoint presentation and interacted with the participants taking the feedbacks into consideration and clarified their misunderstanding and mistakes they have committed in rice cultivation. Shri Singh stressed the importance of locally available materials which can be used for successful integrated nutrient management programme for sustainable and higher production of rice in West Siang district. Shri Singh also encouraged and congratulated the farmers for materialization of Gumin Rego Killaju (let’s join hands together) at Nyodu under which the Pigs are kept under confinement instead of scavenging system in order to make clean and hygienic environment in the village. In addition, he encouraged the farmers to use the organic manures, green manures, biofertilisers and most importantly vermicompost in rice and vegetable cultivation. Lastly, Shri Singh suggested the farmers to adopt the technology for higher production of rice without deteriorating the soil fertility status.
