Training on “Integrated Farming System to improve livelihood of tribal farmers” Under TSP

 

A four (04) days farmers’ training programme was organized by the Horticulture Division, ICAR Research Complex for NEH Region, Umiam, Ri-Bhoi from 14th to 17th December, 2016 at the Division under Tribal sub Plan. The main aim of the training programme was to impart knowledge on various aspects of integrated production for a more sustainable agriculture.

The farmers were imparted hands-on training on horticultural crops such as cultivation of flowers, fruits, vegetables and mushroom. Farmers were also trained on various aspect of pig farming. Planting materials of Gerbera were distributed among the farmers.

The programme was coordinated by Dr. A.K. Jha (Principal Scientist), Dr. H. Rymbai (Scientist), Dr. H.D. Talang (Scientist), Dr, G. Kadirvel (Principal Scientist) of ICAR Research Complex for NEH Region, Umiam, Ri-Bhoi.
