KVK Ri-Bhoi Organized Training On “Doubling Farmers Income Through Holistic Approach in Cultivation Of Horticultural Crops” from 25th to 27th September, 2018.

The ICAR-KVK Ri-Bhoi situated a Umiam has successfully conducted a three day training programme on “Doubling Farmers Income Through Holistic Approach In Cultivation of Horticultural Crops” from 25th to 27th September, 2018. The programme was sponsored by Central Institute of Horticulture, Medziphema, Nagaland for the farmers of Ri Bhoi district. A group of 50 farmers belonging to 4 SHG’s participated in the residential training programme. The overall objective of the programme was to motivate the farmers towards increasing their productivity and income to double their income by the coming years. During the three day deliberations, lectures on fruit & vegetable cultivation and its value addition, protected cultivation, NADEP & vermicomposting, Soil testing & health card, FPO & SHG formation, ICT tools for cultivation & marketing, plant protection, beekeeping and mushroom cultivation were  delivered. Two sessions of practical were conducted for better understanding by the farmers. The programme ended with the interaction session of farmers with the Director, ICAR, Umiam on 27th September, 2018
