KVK Ri-Bhoi and IIHR, Bengaluru Organized Training on “Technologies of IIHR Suitable For NEH Region”

 

The ICAR-IIHR, Hessaraghata and KVK Ri-Bhoi have jointly organized a training programme on “Technologies of IIHR Suitable for NEH Region” on 28th November, 2018. The day long programme was attended by the KVK staffs of Ri Bhoi, West Khasi Hills, East Khasi Hills, Jaintia Hills, West Garo Hills and South Garo hills along with progressive farmers under each KVK’s. A total of 45 participants including 37 progressive farmers under different KVK's participated in the training programme. Dr. Mokidul Islam, SS&H KVK Ri Bhoi welcomed the participants in the training prgramme and emphasized on adequate interaction of farmers with Dr. B. Balakrishna. He also urged the farmers to share the knowledge about the technologies to other fellow farmers in their region. Dr. B. Balakrishna, Principal Scientist (Agril. Extn.), Division of Social Sciences and Training, ICAR-IIHR, Hessaraghatta presented the various technologies, varieties of vegetables, fruits and bio organic products developed by IIHR using AV aids. He emphasized on adoption of these technologies coupled with good agricultural practices to achieve highest potential yield of their varieties. He encouraged the farmers to purchased planting materials and seed from their institute. He also discussed various issues related to organic farming and the queries raised by the participants on various production related problems were addressed by him in simple and under stable manner. At the end of the programme he distributed seed and planting materials to the farmers.
